Into the Deep End

Pitter patter
What’s the matter
I’m none the wise
It’s a riddle
Why the little
Sparkle in your eyes

Change is something
I can feel it
I’m hypnotized
Caught a feeling
Now my lonely
Heart is oversized

I breathe in and out
Before I hit send (ding)
On a message my future
Self can’t defend, mmm
I walk I walk around for a moment
Before before I jump into the deep end

2x
For days I’ve been at it
Disregarded and added
The words to what’s inside

Cover to cover I read the guide
(I learned the guide)
But the words
Got disregarded
For what’s inside

Pitter patter
Does it matter
I realize
Even underwater
It’s okay
To open your eyes

I breathe in and out
Before I hit send (ding)
On a message my future
Self can’t defend
I walk I walk around for a moment
Before before I jump Into the deep end
Before before I jump into the deep end

Want to Try
Picture window
Forms a clear view
Two colors in the sky
Gray and blue

Pencil put to paper where
The lines meet
A never-ending tailwind
With a heartbeat

Solace never finds me
Inside a home
Without a space
I can be alone
And all of the noise around me
Outside the zone
Of silence where my
Mind is my own

Do I want to try
If the timing’s not right
And I’m not ready
Let’s wait and see tonight
Maybe tomorrow when
My energy is high
Nobody’s perfect
Do I even want to try

Solace never finds me
Inside a home
Without a space
I can be alone
And all of the noise around me
Outside the zone
Of silence where my
Mind is my own

Across the Way

When the light is bright and you’re still sitting there
Until the day goes night and coolness stills the air
You’ve got to pay no mind to the awful things you hear
You’ve got to try to find out how to make it disappear

It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired
It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired, so tired

You finally walk away not believing what you’ve seen
You cannot see just how or why or what this all could mean
You’ve got to get back into the mindset that you know
You’ve got to leave this scary place that just won’t let you go.

It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired
It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired, so tired

So it goes and there you stay
You have let it slip away
What you want to turn out right
Is what keeps you up at night
Must be a trap, a bad mistake
A lonely road that you must take
It’s a set up for a fall
Or maybe it’s just nothing at all.

It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired
It’s dark across the way
And every part of me’s just tired, so tired, so tired

It’s dark across the way and every part of me’s just–
It’s dark across the way and every part of me’s so–
It’s dark across the way and every part of me’s just tired.
So tired. So tired.
So tired.

Confine

I don’t believe you
This is not how life should be
Papers crumpled on the floor
And you so far away from me

Used to get along
Hard for us to see
Together now torn apart
Destroyed so easily

Take your time to make it right
And we’ll confine the dark to night
Awake asleep don’t need a light
We’ll confine the dark tonight

Openings all the day
We forgot our memories
Closing up, waking up
Friends become our enemies

Take your time to make it right
And we’ll confine the dark to night
Awake asleep don’t need a light
We’ll confine the dark tonight

Flutter

You come along like a butterfly
And if I reach out to touch you
You’ll disappear
The one thing that I’m pretty sure of
Is that you’re like a butterfly
And you’ll flutter, you’ll flutter away.

You come along and you flutter by
And if I focus on wind
That hits my ear
The one thing I’m pretty sure of
Is that it’s going to go by
And flutter and flutter away

So I turn around
And pretend like I don’t care
If you go or stay because I know
You’ll just flutter, you’ll flutter away.

I got really good at
Hiding my feelings
I still remember
That what I’ve wanted most
Is for you
To be nearby always
To finally get a chance to touch your wings.

So when I turn away
It’s not that I don’t want
To see you coming closer
I don’t want the reason
You float away to be me

The one thing that I’m pretty sure of
Is that you’re like a butterfly
You’ll just flutter, you’ll flutter away.

Good to Know

What are we reaching for?
Can you tell me? Can you tell me?
Will it leave us wanting more?
Do we face this? Can we be free?

What we deny
Will rise up against
The more that we try
The less it makes sense

So come take my hand
If you’re ready to go
The answer becomes clear
And it’s good to know

Who we are, who we are
Who we are, who we are

Hurt A Little

The days are getting longer today I know
The light is shining stronger today I go
Anything I can do to make you hurt a little less
It happens to us all oh c’mon, express

I want to tell you softly
“It’s all right,” hold your hand
And listen to you tell me
“Okay, you’ll understand”
Tell me everything
Or nothing
And I’ll know
What you mean

Some days you hurt a little more
Then you hurt a little less
We all hurt a little, a little,
A little bit, baby

You paint your lone song
I won’t play along but
I will hold my tongue
‘Cause you’ve heard it all

Silently here through
The crevasse grown wide
Until you can see we
Are on the same side

I want to tell you softly
“It’s all right,” hold your hand
And listen to you tell me
“Okay, you’ll understand”
Tell me everything
Or nothing
And I’ll know
What you mean

Some days you hurt a little more
Then you hurt a little less
We all hurt a little, a little,
A little bit, baby

The days are getting longer
Today I know

Pacific Tide

I drove to the ocean and walked to the beach to the sand
I climbed down the staircase and beheld a view oh so grand
I just missed the sunset by an hour or two
Feeling sand between my toes though I was wearing both shoes
It was then that I knew

The night here is dark with a slightly
moist breeze on my nose
I sit on a bench on the boardwalk
And wiggle my toes
The fishermen pursue their last catch of the day
And the couples walk by me
Locked in their love gazes
And it’s getting late and I know

That everything’s changing around me
It’s not a big difference to show
But no one is changing more
than the me I know
I know

I’m here and you’re here and
We’re all together on this wooden pier
And everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific Tide
I’m here and you’re here
And we’re all together on this wooden pier
And everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific Tide
And everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific Tide
And everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific Tide

Patient Child

The leaves are brown
They’re carried away
By the jet-stream of traffic
Things fall down
They get pushed to the side
And it’s automatic

Patient child you can’t change a thing
No need to worry
About what life will bring
For you and for me

In the middle of the night
And you’re waiting in the dark
And you’re looking for a sign
To calm a stormy mind
When the length of time is right
Opportunity is clear
You’ll see the dawn
The early light

The shoelace ties
They come undone
The step after stepping in
Puddles wide
Just tie them back up and
Then you can run again

Patient child you know who you are
No need to worry
If you will go far

In the middle of the night
And you’re waiting in the dark
And you’re looking for a sign
To calm a stormy mind
When the length of time is right
Opportunity is clear
You’ll see the dawn
The early light

Pioche

I want to take a coach
All the way down to Pioche
Where I can sunburn in the daytime
And peel my skin at night

I want to go to town but first
We have to get a carful
And when we finally do
We get a warning to be careful
We do

I want to take a coach
All the way down to Pioche
Where I can sunburn in the daytime
And peel my skin at night

I want to see the lights of the city
But the thunderstorms are causing
Fires and a blackout
I can’t do much about

I want to take a coach
All the way down to Pioche
Where I can sunburn in the daytime
And peel my skin at night

On the way back home
We have to watch out for
The suicidal bunnies

And for the deer
and the other animals who want to
kill themselves for being out here
Can you blame them?

I want to take a coach
All the way down to Pioche
Where I can sunburn in the daytime
And peel my skin at night

I want to take a coach
All the way down to Pioche
Where I can sunburn in the daytime
And peel my skin at night

Pass the sunblock!

Slipped Away

That was the last of time left today
It’s all gone now, slipped away
It’s all the same if you play your cards the way
That any of us who don’t know how to play, would play

Flowers smell dusty and ready to die
Take the box and pack up your life
Don’t shed a tear but never say good bye
Save a memory at least bother to try, to try

That was the last of time left today
It’s all gone now, slipped away, slipped away

Grasping at things you wanted to touch
For once you won’t come through in the clutch
Take a walk and smile and such
See you in time and I’ll miss you this much, so much

That was the last of time left today
It’s all gone now, slipped away, slipped away
Slipped away (x4)

So Lovely

Do you, do you, do you, do you, do you, do you, do you know?

Hear the buses, see the marquee?
We stare out through your window, you and me
Streetlights cut through the night
Sipping tea in the moonlight

It feels so lovely, it feels so lovely, it feels so lovely
Do you, do you, do you, do you, do you, do you, do you know?

Sometimes it’s better to pretend
To be more of what we are
Or less of what we are to depend
On how convenient it is

To feel so lovely, to feel so lovely, to feel so lovely

Do do…
It feels so lovely, it feels so lovely, it feels so lovely
So lovely, so lovely, so lovely, so lovely.

Walker
I walk around, it’s midnight
And I’m too warm to be
Indoors so I get dressed
And walk outside to breathe

Am I too close to see what’s right in front of me?

I search the street for a silhouette
Looking at the backs for your familiar gate
The light is red now I stop and regret
Oh why, oh why must I wait?

Am I too close to see what’s right in front of me?

I see the cars drive by
So slowly all I see are headlights and it’s blinding
I back into the shadows ’til I’m hiding
Can’t you see that I’m trying?

I feel the cool breeze
Touching my skin, reaching
Helping me move closer to you
Turning and turning me all around

Am I too close to see what’s right in front of me?

I walk around, it’s midnight
And I’m too warm to be
Indoors so I get dressed
And walk outside to breathe
