And now for some music outside of my head
I went to singer-songwriter night to see Emily Elbert play at the Hotel Cafe. For the second time seeing her live I was again blown away by her clear, jazzy vocals and impressive guitar playing. She sang half a dozen songs, including Al Green (Let’s Stay Together), Michael Jackson (Thriller), and four of her originals: Do Without, Seeds, In the Summertime, and one of my favs by her, Thinking Hybrid Redirected. She’s based in Boston these days but goes on tour over to the left coast from time to time, so if you get a chance to see her play, take it.
